Knipex Diagonal Cutters and Nippers – A need for a good set of nippers was what started the search for Knipex. Their Ultra High Leverage Diagonal Cutters have induction-hardened cutting edges made from Chrome Vanadium electric steel that has been tempered and oil hardened. With the exception of some of the smaller tools, all diagonal cutters feature the Knipex Comfort© grips.
Hard and soft piano wire is easily cut time and time again. Hard piano wire is the "killer ap" with these tools. Not all nippers can do this, and indeed, aren't made for it either! With the larger tools, up to 1/8" piano (hard) wire and 1/4" Soft Wire can be cut! If you have ever been faced with cutting braided wire and need a nice clean cut, these tools are truly the answer! Please use the following as a guide to rate the nippers in as far as performance capabilities are concerned:
Soft Wire = Copper & Plastics. Medium-Hard Wire = Nails, Wire Pins.
Hard Wire = Wire Rope Strand, Steel Wire. Piano Wire = Spring Steel, Hardened Wire.
